DIY: Dainty Infinity Wire Bangle

Hi there!  I've done a bunch of DIY tutorials on wire rings, so I thought that I should maybe delve into some other jewellery.  That's why today, I'll be showing you how to make these infinity wire bracelets!  If you're interested in finding out how to make them, keep on reading!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 20 gauge wire - Michael's is a great option!  Bead Landing is my go-to brand for jewellery wire.
  • Wire cutters
  • Pliers
  • Glass cup - Make sure that it's about the same size as your wrist, or at least the diameter matches roughly with the widest part of your wrist.  I really hope that made sense.

The first step is to figure out how much wire you're going to need.  Do that by wrapping some wire around your glass cup.  Once you got the length, cut it off with your wire cutters and put that bit of wire aside.

Now cut off about two inches of wire for the infinity sign.

Using your pliers, curve the wire to form half of the infinity sign.

Using your pliers, curve a bit of the wire to mark the longest point of the infinity sign.

Curve the wire slowly and gently.  It's important that you be gentle with the wire so you can form your desired shape with more chance of success.

Trim the excess wire, but let a generous amount still hanging over because you never know if you'll need it.  Curve the wire to finish off the infinity sign.

Flip the infinity sign to the other side and cut off any excess wire.

And this is kind of how it should look like!

Take that other piece of wire you cut earlier and using your pliers, curve the end a bit so the infinity sign doesn't slip off.  Slip your infinity sign on the wire.

Using your pliers, clamp the wire down to keep your infinity sign on your wire.  Cut off any excess wire.

Slip your unfinished bangle on your wrist to measure it out just to see how it fits.  Using your pliers, curve the wire a bit to mark the spot and take the bangle off.  Cut off any excess wire, but leave about an inch on just in case.

Now curve the wire slightly, kind of doing the same movements as for the other side of the infinity sign.  However, don't clamp the wire down all the way because you want to be able to unhook it from the sign.

And there's your finished product!  I think it'd be really cool if you just stack a bunch of bangles on your wrist and add this little guy to the pile.  You could also try this same DIY with some jewellery string or something instead of having the wire go around your wrist.  Let me know in the comments if you'd like to see a tutorial on that or anything else!

Thanks for reading!
